About the artist
Mark Acker Gems & Jewelry was founded on a singular obsession: the intersection of geometric precision and the organic beauty of nature.
Mark Acker himself is a lover of color, variety, niche material, and is a problem solver in both the creative and mechanical sense. He prides himself on creating work that evokes emotion and tells its own story, often utilizing moving parts to do so.
As a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology's Jewelry Design program, Mark is no stranger to experimentation. He prides himself on trying new things, which has led him to explore tutoring, CAD modeling, and gemology throughout the duration of his ongoing career. Mark has a gemology certification from FIT, is in the Women's Jewelry Association, and frequently mines his own material throughout the U.S. As he continues his journey as a designer, he plans not only to continue on this eclectic path, but to expand and grow it as well.
